Snack Right & Snack KIND + Giveaway!

Just like clockwork, 4 pm hits and I’m hungry.  Never fails.  I don’t like having a big lunch at work – I get way too sleepy and can’t focus.  So typically in the late afternoon I’m looking for a healthy snack to tide me over til dinner at 7 pm.

I’ve definitely attempted to skip my afternoon snack – especially if I’m busy with patients or in the mood to cut a few extra calories.  Well…let’s just say that generally doesn’t work out.  Ravaging doesn’t even describe my level of hunger by the time I get home.  No bueno.


KIND5 It’s important to include a healthy snack when you need it.  Though the key word there, is if you need it.  If it’s going to be at least 2 hours or so until my next meal, I’ll generally indulge in a high protein snack.  Or if I’ve had a unusually small breakfast or lunch, I might have a snack too.  Just depends.

But when I do snack, I try to pick something good for me.  Something that’s satisfying, healthy, high in protein and also delicious!  Some of my favorite afternoon snacks include:  Herb Roasted Chickpeas, Cinnamon Vanilla GranolaRoasted Beet Hummus or even Roasted Pumpkin Seeds!


KIND7 Another one of my go-to snacks are KIND bars.  And as they recommend – “Choose simple, wholesome, nutrient dense foods and snacks made with a balance of healthy fats, protein and fiber, such as KIND bars to improve diet quality.”  A very true statement and one I follow and recommend.
